Offer Description
- Write a dissertation at the University of Graz in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Participate in research projects in the field of metabolic cardiovascular diseases
- Autonomously plan and evaluate scientific experiments
- Perform experiments and data analysis e.g. for immunprofiling and gene expression profiling (e.g. transcriptomics in bulk and single cells)
- Participate in a larger, interdisciplinary research consortium
- Present and discuss findings at regular internal and external meetings and conferences
- Publication of research results
- Teach courses and participate in teaching and examination tasks at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology
- Supervise students
- Participate in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Skills/Qualifications
- Completed diploma or master’s degree in the area of life sciences or natural sciences.
- Knowledge in the field of immunology, cardiovascular diseases, and/or omics-technologies (e.g. transcriptomics)
- Practical knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology, and molecular pharmacology
- Practical knowledge of working with mouse models (desirable)
- Practical knowledge of flow cytometry (desirable)
- Practical knowledge of bioinfomatic data analysis (R, Python, desirable)
- High level of commitment, personal initiative, and self-motivation for scientific work
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
- High degree of personal responsibility and ability to cooperate
- High degree of ability to communicate and work in international and interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent social skills and ability to work in a team
