EURAXESS Austria has been an active contributor to the EURAXESS network, supporting and participating in several projects. On this page, you can find an overview of current and past initiatives aimed at improving the mobility & career development of researchers in Europe as well as beyond.
Ongoing Projects
ERA Talent project
From March 2023 until 2026, the ERA Talent project offers funding to expand the services of EURAXESS. Building upon more than a decade of EURAXESS projects, ERA Talent will develop the ERA Talent Platform, continue with the Hub Project and create Communities of Practice for the exchange of best practices among network members.
The EURAXESS Hubs project, which was established between 2021 and 2022, supports the professional development of researchers by creating cross-border pilot hubs and sharing their experiences across the network.
These hubs are integrated digital platforms for thematic, cross-border collaboration between EURAXESS Centres and other stakeholders, offering tailored services and tools for researchers.
Each hub will develop a digital toolkit to showcase its expertise and enable other Centres to adopt the model. The aim is for the hubs to remain active and expand beyond the project’s duration.
EURAXESS Communities of Practice (CoPs) are six thematic groups (2024–2026) for EURAXESS network members (professionals) supporting researchers’ mobility and careers. They serve as collaborative platforms to share expertise, experiences, best practices, and build capacity around specific topics.
Each CoP focuses on current needs and trends in researchers’ careers and mobility, using a community-based approach with optional input from external experts.
- Supporting mobility and procedures, including entry conditions, social security, and taxation
- Social integration and dual careers (OeAD participation)
- Talent circulation, including cooperation with EURAXESS Worldwide (OeAD participation)
- Cooperation with stakeholders outside academia/industry for intersectoral mobility, including scientific startup entrepreneurship
- Diversity, inclusion and gender issues
- Recruitment services towards a career in the academic and non-academic public sector
